So Summers, A Southern Mom's Blog, About So Summers
My heart in one photo.

Hello! My name is Samantha, but I prefer to answer to Sami or Sam. I am married to an awesome and patient Husband and mother to a little hellraiser that is my clone. (Mom, I apologize again for my behavior during childhood). I recently took the plunge and left the workforce to be a stay-at-home mom. We also moved to Hubs’ family’s farm at the beginning of 2017. Much to my chagrin, I found that while I grew up in a very rural area and consider myself “country”, I know NOTHING (Jon Snow) about farm life.

We live in the middle of a forest and I spend my days surrounded by lots of 4 legged animals and tree frogs that must sing the song of their people.  And cicadas, anyone from the South cannot ignore the cicadas.

Why Blog?

I’ve wanted to write for years, but I never really had a cohesive theme.  I’m always a bit erratic in my thoughts. Moving to Pater’s Acres, as I affectionately call it, has given me some new hobbies as well as a consistent outlet to improve upon. I have found myself fascinated by my husband’s knowledge of how to work the land, use equipment, and general information that I never knew I never knew. This has given me the kick in the pants to expand my understanding of how to grow food and take care of livestock.  All while truly appreciating the beauty that surrounds me and chasing around a high energy toddler.

Please join me as I embark on this wonderful journey of farming, eating, and motherhood.

I am so pleased that we’re both here!
