Blog Schedule

Blog Schedule

Hello and Good Morning, everyone!

Believe it or not, I’m recently coming out of a new blogger slump.  I’ve wanted to blog for years and I genuinely thought I had decent content coming out the nose.  Found out that it wasn’t true and I commend everyone who is consistent with their posts because it’s honestly hard.  This draft has sat patiently and waiting for my to find my motivation to complete it for more than a month now.  Along with several others, but I’m working on them.

I liken myself to a squirrel.  A little bit here and a little bit there; flick my tail every now and again, you guys get the picture.  That being said I know that I tend to be a bit erratic when it comes to both posting and my rambling within my posts.  A huge thank you for everyone sticking around through this all.  Blogging is just a smidge more intensive than I had initially thought.

Blog Schedule

I’m trying to find a happy medium with all of the topics that I want to cover.  I had considered initially having certain topics set for certain days, but that has NOT worked out in my favor.  I’m finding that it is difficult to churn out content (that I think is good) just because.  So I’m dedicating time and effort into changing my approach about it.

I know that I’d like to publish at least 2 posts a week.  Three if I’m feeling extra creative.  But for now I’m going to take the stress off of myself and not promise to write about topics on certain days.  I don’t think it is fair to my readers or myself to put out something that is inferior just because I said I would.  On top of all of this, I’m now keeping another toddler so my free time during the day has been greatly reduced.

Between the babes and housework, I’ve been bouncing all over the place trying to keep ahead.  There are some Super Moms out there and they are my heroes.  I’ve got to work up to their level, I can’t expect to run a marathon straight out of the gate.

Other Changes

In my last post, I stated that I wanted to try to be true to my original intention of blogging.  To share my life with anyone who is interested in reading it.  Incidentally, this may mean that I’ll be writing less “helpful” posts.  I won’t swear them off, but again, they are not my primary focus anymore.

If you just happen to like my rambling, be sure to sign up for my newsletter and have my posts sent directly to your email.  Please note that your privacy is very important and I’ll never send you spam.

  1. Somedays it can be super easy and other days its so hard with scheduling etc. Eventually getting the right schedule will be right.

  2. I am coming back from a blogging slump too! Finding out I was unexpectedly pregnant meant my travel blog was going to go by the way side, but I wanted to keep blogging! 6 months later I finally have figured out my new blog focus and have taken some big steps down that road, but I have lost a great deal of momentum in terms of traffic due to my inactivity for these last few months. Oh well.
I’m trying to get on a once a week schedule, but with the transition of everything, it definitely is harder to find the time, and I agree, I only want to publish what is polished and well-done.
Good luck to us both, eh?

    1. Most definitely good luck to us both. How exciting, though. Plus, if you want to include travelling again in the future, think of how much traffic you can get with your travel with baby posts.

  3. I love that you’re writing what you want to, not what it feels like the blogging world expects us to write! It can be so hard to find our voice amidst all the “top tips for ___” and “3 things to do before ___” type posts, but it sounds like you’ve got the right idea!!

    1. I’m certainly trying to, but it is somewhat easier to topic write for me. However, all of the topics have been covered and that’s not what I want to be known for.

  4. I was burned out on blogging earlier this year. Took some time off and regrouped. Tons of work but fun now.

  5. I don’t think you ramble. That being said, I don’t mind rambling posts. To me, it’s more authentic because that’s how I think. I’ve taken plenty of blogging breaks and changed how I blog and what I blog about so I can relate to feeling burned out. I look forward to reading more posts from you.

  6. I started my blog writing 3 posts a week, and I dropped down to 2 a week since the start of the calendar year. I have learned that it is okay to cut yourself a little slack and not get posts out at the same time every time!

  7. It’s a great feeling when you find a schedule that works for you! I am definitely still trying to do the same!

  8. It’s so hard to find that balance between blogging, housework, and baby care. I’m in the exact same boat as you are. Good luck!

  9. Blog slumps can definitely happen – but welcome back! I think it’s a good idea not to have certain posts on certain days – it does add a lot of pressure!

  10. Totally understand. Some days I’m on it and the other days I’m not motivated what so ever!

  11. One of the hardest parts about blogging is writer’s block. But know that most of us still really enjoy the personal, life-rambling posts, even if they don’t pin well on Pinterest :).

  12. I’m still trying to figure out that whole blog scheduling thing….

  13. This is understandable it happens sometimes you will be fine and I’m sure your readers will understand and appreciate when you do get the chances to post!
