I was Nominated for the Liebster Award!

Liebster Award

Who is Liebster?

And why is there an award?  In short, The Liebster Award is a method to discover new bloggers and welcome them into the blogging community.  After the blogger has been nominated by a peer, if they accept the nomination they will answer a few questions about themselves and nominate other fellow bloggers.  I accepted and cried about it.  Of course there is a catch, in order to introduce yourself more fully, you must answer 10 questions.  This is the equivalent of standing in front of the class when you’re the new kid in school.  I’ll try to be brief.

Who Loves Me?

I was nominated by the wonderful Anita from Chronicles of a Momtessorian.  I genuinely cried about it because I am a sap, but mostly because I truly respect Mrs. Anita and admire her work.  She is a Montessori trained teacher, wife, and mother and has an amazing blog that I stalk reference regularly.  I cannot wait to implement her techniques when my own Squeak is a little bit older.  She writes with a passion that shows and her activities and experiments certainly would have entertained me growing up.  If you’re a homeschooling mom or if you are looking for fun activities that are educational for the summer.  Check out her blog here.

Let’s do this.

1. Tell us about your blog.

My blog is still in its infancy, but I want to share this wild ride that is parenthood.  I’m also learning how to live and work on a farm and I have dreams to one day make this a semi-independent homestead.

2. What has been the most rewarding experience your blog has brought you?

This has been an excellent outlet to be creative and to write again.  Plus, I have had the opportunity to join a very supportive community of fellow bloggers.  They have so much to offer and I spend too much time at night reading up on all of my new favorite blogs.

3. What is the best piece of advice you can give your readers?

Find your three hobbies.  It is said that you should find a hobby that makes you money, a hobby that keeps you in shape, and a hobby to be creative.

4. Where do you see yourself and your blog in a year?

I hope that in a year I am able to still provide relevant content for my readers.  I’d like to continue to document our fun farm life with maybe a few additions (wink wink).  Why am I winking?  My husband doesn’t read this so I can say it, I want to get more animals.

5. Give a tip for other bloggers or potential blog starters.

Don’t do what I did.  I did so much research and reading that I continually psyched myself out (still do).  Follow your passion and write with your heart.  As stressed as I am at times, I am thoroughly enjoying this experience.

6. When do you find the time to blog?

Most of my blogging is done during naptime or from 9p-1a after my Sneaky Squeaky falls asleep.

7. What makes you deliriously happy?

My family.  Between my husband and our baby girl, I’ve genuinely got it made.  I couldn’t imagine my life any other way.

8. Where will your next vacation be?

I’m not 100% sure yet.  I’d like to go camping again.  Apparently my husband thought that I was a girly girl and wouldn’t do the outdoorsy thing (it’s like he doesn’t even know me).  The last time that we went, we camped at a local state park and it was a wonderful time even though I was 36 weeks pregnant at the time.  I think our next trip will probably be local again (just in case) and it will be an adventure because we will have a 1 year old with us.

9. What is a difficult obstacle you have had to overcome?

I am still working on it, but after I became a mom my self esteem hit the dirt.  Don’t know why, but it was like I gave up on me when I became a mom.  I do have a post in the works that delves a little more in depth about it.  But, I’m working towards being Sam again instead of only being Mama.

10. What are you most grateful for in your life?

I am grateful for everything that I have in my life.  Every piece has helped me to become who I am and where I am.  I have an amazing family, two dogs that love me more than I deserve, two cats that are generally indifferent about me, and a roof over my head.  If things don’t get better I am still perfectly okay right now and I am very grateful.

Spreading the Love

The other part of being and accepting my nomination for the Liebster Award is nominating other bloggers to share in this victory.  Below are five bloggers that I adore and who put in a lot of hard work to share in their experiences.  If they choose to accept the Liebster Award nomination, please

  1. Autumn at Lectin Free Mama
  2. Corrin at Ambition in Life
  3. Kamie at We’ll Do It Our Way
  4. Angie at The Luck of a Magpie
  5. Miranda at Just Raising the Bahr

  1. Oh gosh, I can’t do the camping thing. Maybe glamping! hah But that’s great you love it – and hopefully you can go again soon.

Love your tip about the three hobbies.

    1. We will probably go glamping now that Squeak is here. Little Miss lives the high life.

  2. Congrats on your award! So exciting to hear about your farm. I love that!

    1. Thank you so much, it is certainly an adventure.

  3. Congrats girl! I totally agree. If someone starts a blog, you just need to start. There’s no reason to do research for long periods of time, IMO. I started blogging 8 years ago, and the world was so vastly different. None of the stuff you see now even was a thing back then. People just started writing.

    1. Thank you so much! I wish I had the motivation to start back when I first considered it. I wouldn’t be nearly as stressed out now. 😀

  4. Congratulations! This is an awesome achievement, you must be really proud 🙂 I love your blog as well, particularly reading about motherhood because I’m also a new mummy!

    1. Congratulations! Motherhood is a roller coaster ride, right? If I can provide even one helpful piece of advice for you then I’ve done my job.
